Joaquin's sentences are getting longer and longer, and starting to reveal that he is grasping cause-effect. Yippee!
"Mommy, you have to go store we need more bananas."
"You have to put gas in car make it go."
"Don't five." Translation: "don't fight." He also counts it out on his fingers with his hand in the air: "don't five - one, two, three, four, five." It's a mixture of a disciplinary/counting moment.
A Little Ditty
The last time we went to visit Grandpa, we were all sitting in a restaurant together. Joaquin looked at me very seriously, and said, "Mommy, no talking." Then he looked at Grandpa very earnestly and said, "Grandpa, can I have lollipop?" Then he shot me another quick look to let me know I was not included in the conversation. He's no fool, he knew how to work the situation!
A Proud Observation
Joaquin is becoming very generous. He doesn't hesitate to share his food with his friends or Mommy. He likes to spontaneously set the table before his friends come over for a meal. He loves to find ways to be helpful. He likes to open the door if my hands are full, put things back in their place, organize, use the mini-vacuum to clean the floor. I so appreciate his personality and temperament. He is a social, sensitive guy. I'm proud of him that he is aware of the feelings of others around him.
Over and out.
