The holiday season is upon us, and JCG is loving it. He believes Christmas means Christmas trees and lights, I don't think he associated it with a specific day yet this year. I think it's also my last year to get away with not buying a bunch of presents. He didn't expect them and was pleasantly happy to get some. We are at Aunt Karla and Uncle Scott's house in CO, and they had so much fun getting his stocking ready and putting presents under the tree for him. Once he knew some were there with his name on it he didn't see the point in waiting to open them until later.
He loved the airplane ride out here, he still talks frequently about our airplane trip out to VA last summer, so I waited until the night we left to tell him about this trip or I never would have gotten peace until we got to the airport. "Let's go airplane!" He got a window seat, and his eyes were big as saucers as we took off. As soon as we got to cruising altitude, he looked at me and said, "all done," with an expression on is face like, "well, what should we do next?" I let him know we were just beginning our trip so he settled in after that. He liked the shuttle train at Denver as well.
We just dodged a major storm in KC when we flew to DIA. There's a lot of snow here as well that arrived earlier - yesterday we put on his snowsuit and got all bundled up. He loved falling into the snow, making snow angels, getting it on his face. Once again I'm reliving my childhood with him and enjoying it more this time around!
Speech is taking off more and more. There are so many cute little things he says and when I don't write them down immediately, I lose them, but I'll try and resurrect some below.
No school today, I want school tomorrow.
That's my J! (He recognizes letters now)
Who wants__________?
Mommy, put your shirt on.
No way, check it out!
May I have some_____please.
Lets go trip airplane tomorrow.
Don't touch it.
No bath today, no wash hair today. (He wishes)
Mommy, cracker cookie please. (Either one will do, asking for both can't hurt)
We are all done with immunizations, he got his second H1N1 a couple weeks ago and now I'm not such a crazy worrier about it. Since then he's been playing doctor a lot, he likes to mime give people a "blue shot" in their arm followed by a bandaid. The doctor is in.
