All Babies Come From China

A quick little ditty. My friend Amy has been pregnant for as long as J can remember. Well, she gave birth to beautiful Harry, and they came to visit last week. J looked at Amy's stomach, then down at the baby, then looked up at her and said, "China?" We had to explain that there are more ways than one to have a baby. It makes sense that he thinks a trip to China is the only option at this point. I have several books about adopting from China, and they all have the same simple plot when it comes to the process of adoption. Basically the mommies need a baby so they write a letter to China and wait a minute then China writes back and then you get a taxi to the airport and take a plane ride and then you just pick them up and go to the hotel and get to know each other and give the baby a blanket so it will stop crying and then come home. Right. Just pop off a quick letter and you're all set. Talk about fiction!
